“TO WIN… WE MUST DENY OURSELVES…THINGS THAT…KEEP US FROM DOING OUR BEST” 1 CORINTHIANS 9:25 (adapted)
A few months ago I read something interesting about an agency that once created an ad for the famous Rolls Royce Company that said: “At 60 mph the loudest noise in the new Rolls-Royce is the electric clock.” When they ran the ad by a Rolls executive he smiled and said, “I suppose we´ve got to do something about that clock!” My wish is that this year we will never stop trying to do it better and better!
WHOEVER CAN BE TRUSTED WITH A LITTLE CAN…BE TRUSTED WITH A LOT.” LUKE 16:1
I have just started this blog so please be patient with me since I’m just learning how to post things here.
I will be updating this space regularly and I want to fill this area with thoughts from me and from the stuff I’m reading and learning.
I have lots of exciting things to share with you and to start off nothing better than an uplifting devotional; This Christmas I had so many things to celebrate what God has done for us! May 2006 be a year when we will celebrate what God did, is doing and will do and also a time to share our stories to one another as we walk through this year together. Some of you know that I keep a file in my desk that contain hundreds of quotes that I have kept throughout the years; quotes that inspires me and helps me to keep focus and in this letter l want to share a couple of those quotes.
When artistic master Michelangelo was painting his famous mural on the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel in Italy, he spent hours lying on a wooden platform high up in the dome perfecting all the fine details. He took his time over every brushstroke; every colour had to be just the right tone. A friend, who was curious about why Mike bothered with details that couldn´t be seen from a distance, asked, “But who´ll know whether or not it´s perfect? “Michelangelo replied, “I will!”
Meditating on what Mike had said reminded me that Jesus said: “Whoever can be trusted with a little can…be trusted with a lot.” Before God trusts me with a big job, He´ll test me with a small one. The only way to know if I´m ready for more is to look at how I handle what I have already got. We shouldn´t be surprised when God keeps bringing us back to certain things until we get them right. Remember the 12 disciples? Their ego´s kept getting in the way and Jesus had to keep reminding them that positions and promotions are nothing, they needed to learn to serve as Jesus himself came to serve and not to be served.
As we walk through our life with God, He´ll grow our faith by testing us in areas that only require a little bit of faith. If we do well, He´ll bring us to a higher level and challenges that requires a bit more faith, then a bit more, then a bit more.
Personally and in ministry, I have attained God´s blessings in being faithful in the small things and ultimately experiencing growth! My hope is that you enjoy the content of this blog and my prayer is that you have a blessed day!
God bless
Anderson
