Now, this is an old post, however, it made me laugh again today when i reread it. So , I’ve decided to re-post it. Sometimes I lead a church youth/teen class and I really enjoy it, but I think younger kids speak their minds out with a lot more freedom that is beautiful hearing - its always a hilarious experience! I just love kids, they are so unpredictable and funny. Throughout the years I’ve read some funny quotes and prayers from children and as I was cleaning my files today …

Making Art

My definition of art contains three elements:

Art is made by a human being.
Art is created to have an impact, to change someone else.
Art is a gift. You can sell the souvenir, the canvas, the recording… but the idea itself is free, and the generosity is a critical part of making art.

By my definition, most art has nothing to do with oil paint or marble. Art is what we’re doing when we do our best work.

Being Real

Recently I was with some people who were flattering me in an obnoxious way. A few minutes later I heard their “ask” as they were trying to close a sale of their initiative.

In our journey through the holy script
We’ve not yet reached THE END
Turn the page
All that is to be said has not yet been said
Turn the page
Long ago the writers finished the text
But the players have not yet said it all
There are heroes yet to take stage
There are dramas yet to be resolved
Turn the page

A Powerful prophetic word from Leonard Ravenhill. Oh may we pay heed to such a word, such a burden, such a clear message from God. “Sacrifice not sacrifice” Oh how we need to live the true Christian life in our day.

Ben Franklin once wrote, “I would rather have it said ‘he lived usefully’ than ‘he died rich.’” More than just words, it was the way Franklin lived his life. One example of his useful nature was the invention of the Franklin stove. Instead of patenting it and keeping it to himself, Ben Franklin decided to share his invention with the world.

I love this challenging prayer, a call to the adventurous…
Francis Drake was England’s most famous sailor and explorer, he sailed around the world in ‘The Golden Hind’ in 1580 and led the outnumbered British Navy to defeat the Spanish Armada in 1588.
This prayer was found in his ship’s diary, written on the eve of one of his great adventures:
Disturb us, Lord, when we are too well pleased with ourselves,
When our dreams have come true
Because we dreamed too little,
Because we sailed too close to the shore.
Disturb us, Lord, when
With the abundance …

I ‘m reading this book by Peretti called the Visitation right?, and the stuff this guy starts his book with are all the stuff that is going on and on and on my head for I would say months now. See…, I’ve been a Christian for quite a while now, minister, pastor if you like, youth minister, good guy, worship leader, prayer man, spiritual guide and counselor, encourager, whatever else, also attended the meetings plus meetings plus endless, long AND boring meetings and I’m terribly fed up with this whole …

D - Dare to Dream
Every dream we have starts in the mind and can be put there by God direct! What we have to do, the risk we need to take, is dare to accept it and make it our own. Hopefully it will stretch us and develop us into bigger people as we dare to do more than we ever thought possible.
R - be Realistic
Being realistic doesn’t mean that we need to make our goal easy - it just means that we ensure that it is achievable. Ideally we …
