I had a great time reading a work by Pierre Teilhard de Chardin today, if you are not familiar with father Pierre ( I call father Pierre); he was a French Jesuit, Teilhard conceived such ideas as the Omega Point and the Noosphere which i don’t get much.

I joined a while ago a community of friends who meets regularly on retreats in various Monateryes around the country; during those 2 days retreats we spend sometime praying for each other and also spend sometime alone with God, listening, reading…
Today again I have just came back from a two days retreat at Worth Abbey. We stayed at the Benedictine Monastery in Sussex and it was just an amazing experience to be there …

A National Project for the Bicentenary of the Abolition of the Slave Trade
The 200th anniversary of the abolition of the Slave Trade in the British Empire in 2007 is a significant event, providing a unique opportunity to reflect and learn from the past and to work together towards a better future. There is a single word in the West African Akan language called “SANKOFA” which means “we must learn from the past to build for the future.” Walking together is one of the best ways for people to learn.

On my way to the office in harpenden, I’ve been listening to Dr Stephen R Covey on Leadership and his latest teaching CD on Principle Centered Leadership & the 8th Habit; Now what I didnt realise after reading the news was that one of the guys he mentions in his teachings:Muhammad Yunus, founder of the Grameen Bank, accepted this Nobel Peace Prize this month for his work in microfinance. In the speech given Mr Yunus offered some of the best thoughts I’ve heard in a long time. His entire speech …

And it came to pass in those days that there went out a decree from Caesar Augustus that all the world should be taxed…Merry Christmas!
